Candidate Requirements

  • A recognised accounting qualification or qualified by experience 
  • 5 to 10 years relevant experience 
  • Comprehensive understanding of current accounting principles and local tax rules
  • Good presentation skills  
  • Methodical, measured and thoughtful  
  • Good working knowledge of IT platforms and applications and highly competent in the use of the  Microsoft suite of products 
  • Good working knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero and CaseWare would be advantageous 

Main Tasks Of The Role

Your duties may include but not be limited to the following:

  • Oversight and management of client facing teams consisting of accounts, tax and company  secretarial, ensure that client service levels, deadlines and expectations are met at all times.
  • Responsible for managing the service delivery for the accounts team 
  • Manage own portfolio of clients, liaising directly with client as required. 
  • Preparation and / or review of the more complex clients held in the team portfolio.
  • Preparation and / or review of business tax computations, sole trader, partnership and company
  • Oversee and manage accounts preparation for the team for all clients. 
  • Liaise with directors and other external parties as required. 
  • Maintain an appropriate understanding of all laws, regulations and industry best practice relevant to  the company and its clients. 
  • Ensure that the organisational policies and procedures are complied with at all times.
  • Act as a mentor to other team members and supervise and assist in the training and development of  staff. Motivate, nurture and develop engaged employees.  
  • Actively manage the appraisal process for all direct reports 
  • Assist the directors and other teams with any ad-hoc requests as they arise. 
  • Contribute towards the business-as-a-whole, for instance, in identifying improvements in policies and  procedures that apply across the business. 
  • Review WIP incurred and coordinate billing across teams and ensure that extra billing opportunities  are identified, and appropriate action is taken 
  • Participate in new client proposals / pitches as necessary, and manage the integration of new clients  into the Group’s procedures 
  • Participate in client fee negotiations 
  • Act as a higher authority on day-today queries and as a signatory on Accounts and other matters,  ensuring that company policy and professional and regulatory guidelines are adhered to and that  professional quality service is provided to clients and outside contacts

  • Identify improvements to internal processes and provide recommendations to the accounts team  manager, practice manager or directors.
  • Implementation of recommended internal changes with a positive attitude.  
  • Implement and support change approved by the directors. 
  • Contribute and provide input to management reports. 
  • Ensure the corporate brand is upheld at all times and represent the Company professionally at client  meetings and events.

Project Management

Participate in and oversee projects as required ensuring timely and successful outcomes.

Business Development

  • Participate in the Client take on process.
  • Assist the Compliance officer in ensuring new business is taken on in accordance with internal processes.

Client Service Delivery

  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures that improves client service delivery.
  • Ensure the affairs of clients are kept regularly monitored. 
  • Ensure the consistent delivery of services.
