Employers’ Social Security Contributions

Social Security contributions – payable monthly

From October 2022, employers with less than 80 employees will need to pay their social security obligation monthly instead of paying quarterly.  Payment for the previous month becomes due on the 15th of the month, so you will need to pay for your October contributions by the 15 November 2022 and each following month accordingly thereafter.

Revenue Jersey will still send you a quarterly statement so you can reconcile your contributions with your wage records. Your payments will be for the sum of the primary and secondary contributions that you’ve declared on your employer return.

If you have 80 staff or more, you’ll already be making your payments monthly, so this won’t affect you.

You can:

  • Pay by debit or credit card
  • Pay using telephone or internet banking
  • Pay by cheque

When you pay your Social Security contributions, make sure to always include your employer reference number and specify the month (and year) you’re paying.

Please remember that your Social Security and tax payments must be made separately, as the funds go to different accounts.
